Summary:

In the article, “Report: Diversity growing in nearly every state”, the author considers that the diversity in every state in America is growing, except West Virginia. William Frey thinks that the reason why state attracts immigrants is because of the economy success. Furthermore, the author also indicates that some issues are caused by immigrants. For example, both legal and illegal immigrants make up an increasing number of populations of the most parts of country. At the same time, the survey which was made last year also has some disadvantages like only people who live in households were surveyed. In addition, through analyzing the data from the survey, people found that not only the diversity is in every state, but also the average ages and education levels are different from the past. The author also emphasizes that South Caroline is growing up most of the immigrant population.

Response:

I could not say anything about the statistic because I did not do any survey, but as an international student who was studying at a community college, I could say that most international students would like to choose more acceptable and wealthy areas to study abroad such as Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York. I can meet people from different countries, and they live here to make American more multicultural and multiracial. Since that, I agree with the author’s opinion about increasing number of immigrants, and also I agree with that states which have more special qualities attract more immigrants.
