This article explains what happened due to discrimination on price for baked products. Organizers of a bake sale intentional designed price differences to upset people. The pastries price at bakery cafe on campus are $2 for white students, $1.50 for Asian students, $1 for Latinos, $75 cents for African American students and 25 cents for native Americans students. Also, all races woman can get 25 cent off. The protest was against allowing public university to base attention on race, sex and place of origin, or affirmative action. Minority student interpreted the sliding scale of baked goods to be an attempt to place higher value on being white. The associated students of Berkeley voiced opposition to any event that discriminated agents a particular gap of students in an even even it was designed to call attention to action done in error. In order to prove to point of unfairness a comment was made that since Pocahontas is a native American female. She deserves the 25 cent female discount and 25 cent total charge so in effect she gets all her cupcakes and donuts free. This was an action taken to show the extreme result of racial profiling. In sprite of attempts by university officials to stop the bake sale but the students plan continue and one receiving support from other University of California. Other students are joining to show need for expansion of understanding about racial diversity. There will be two opposite bake sale at the same time and place.

Response
In my opinion, this is a good idea to remind people that they should not treat people differently depend on ethnic and sex. There are still a number of people that prefer to separate ethnic society. It is impossible for people to change their background. As a result, people that still have feeling about segregation should stop and get over it. On the other hand, I think the protest students should stop selling products since people already know how unfair is. This can become a enormous issue for students if they are still selling different price.
