http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/14/us/online-educators-make-inroads-in-public-schools.html?ref=education

Summary:
Will Clarkston who has suffered from dyslexia is taking virtual education. Because of his illness, he could not take normal high education but thanks to online course, he can study, ask, and pause and refresh his brain. He has plan to enter college in the spring

Online education has a lot of positive effect to most students. It is giving chance to take higher-level courses and another subjects may not allowed in school. The students like Will got opportunity to study spontanesouly.

However, in public school, teachers are thinking that online education intimidates the belief of public education. The number of students who take online classes has been increasing but some scholars are having a doubt about virtual class teacher's works.Gene V Class a researcher at the University of Colorado's National Education Policy center said students who take virtual classes, spent more time studying. The reason is why students put money in it so they focus on studying more.

From 2007,Texas has developed virtual courses From thrid grade, they have qualification to enroll the online courses. The schools in Texas are studying to develop the curriculum in online courses. Eventhough the second-largest school in texas, alot of students have enrolled in online courses last fall and the ratio has increased. The teacher who taught in school and online courses both said " Online education is creating its own image right now" he said virtual courses have developed own institution but teachers do not know how to work.

Janelle James, dean of Southwest School said the online education can work flexiblity. Teachers can learn how to use and how to help students and students learn to be responsible for finishing courses. She also understood that the concern about the increasing online education.

Response: Like artical said, online courses have many positive effect and negative effect but I think the "OFF-line"education is more effective to students because in the school, students learn not only academic knowledge, but also how to live in society .School is the first society they have entered then they can learn how to deal with people and be responsible for their assignment.
However in virtual courses, a student can do anything whatevet so they can control their aim and expand their time but it could lose their concentration or interesting. also when they submit their test or assignment, they have chance to cheat because in online they do not have teacher who can be supervisor.
Teen-age is accurate time to talk or discuss with other people. They can share and accept others' opinion easily and it has affected to grow up.
In conclusion, I think that public education is better than online education.
